Porto Alegre (Brasil)
Beethoverão –
The Beethoven Summer 2020/2021

The Pedra Redonda collective, together with the Goethe-Institut Porto Alegre, continues the celebration of the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's birthday with a series of three music videos for the Beethoverão project.
The collective opened the doors of its studio and invited five musicians to present their versions of Beethoven compositions, resulting in surprising musical encounters.
In the first video, flutist Eriadny Borba and the trio Kiai Grupo engaged in the Rondo Allegro from the Sonata Pathetique Op. 13, followed by recordings with Kiai Grupo titled “Suite Ludwig/Beethoven pout pourri” and Gabriela Vilanova playing with Kiai Grupo in “Ludwig na Pedrada/Trauermarsch der Sinfonia 7 em lá maior (Op.92)”.
Inspired by the aesthetics of the web series “Na Pedra Redonda”, the Goethe-Institut Porto Alegre, in collaboration with the Pedra Redonda collective, will be honoring Beethoven's music from the perspective of renowned artists from the Brazilian region of Rio Grande do Sul.
