Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition Hannover

The Stiftung Niedersachsen (Foundation of Lower Saxony) established this triennial competition in 1991 with a view to limelighting Hannover as the traditional and current-day home to a number of high-calibre musical institutions and events. The up-and-coming international generation of young violinists is invited to Lower Saxony every three years for this competition under the artistic direction of initiator Krzysztof Wegrzyn.

2nd prize: € 40,000
3rd prize:  € 30,000
4th to 6th price: € 8.000 each
Audience Prize: 5.000

Semifinalists will each be awarded a 1,000 € scholarship.
