Markneukirchen
International Instrumental Competition Markneukirchen

Set in a world-renowned centre of orchestral instrument-making in Germany’s Vogtland region, the International Instrumental Competition Markneukirchen alternates every year between strings and winds (two instruments per year). This annual forum for young international artists, which grew out of a “violin contest” in 1966, has been under the patronage of Kurt Masur since 2005.
