The Maschinenhaus Essen is a place of encounter and networking. The premises will be awarded for the realization of free artistic projects. In addition to its large hall, the nacelle also offers the foyer cellar and a rehearsal room.

Field: The tender is aimed at artists, ensembles or initiatives who want to try out or realize original ideas and concepts in artistic freedom. There is no restriction on a division or the choice of format, although in 2019 the focus lies on projects targeting children and adolescents. Also formats of art education, which are in cooperation with the resident artists, are possible.

Duration: The stay at Maschinenhaus Essen is not limited in time. During the artistic process, at least one public presentation of the work or the development process should take place.

Services:

  • Space and infrastructure as well as support in the areas of technology, public relations, mentoring, project management, documentation, theater education etc. are provided.
  • Accommodation is not provided, but it can be helped with.
  • Payment of a participation fee for the stay and care in the engine house of 250 euros per week. The stay in the nearby rehearsal room costs 150 Euro per week.
