The bangaloREsidency was initiated as a long-term collaboration between the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Bangalore and various innovative and contemporary art and cultural spaces. The aim of the programme is to provide artists living and working in Germany with a platform that makes possible their creative development, helps them meet the challenges of a vibrant, modern Indian metropolis such as Bangalore and work together with local Indian artists.

The bangaloREsidency programme fosters sustainable cultural exchange and provides a forum for encounters for German guests and the local artistic community.

The local partners come from various areas of art, culture and society: theatre, dance, film, social organizations and educational institutions. Currently, institutions participating in the project include 1 Shanthi Road Studio/Gallery, Jaaga - Creative Common Ground, Srishti School of Art, Design & Technology, Infinite Souls Farm and Artists Retreat, Yuva Chintana Foundation, Pepper House-Kochi-Muziris Biennale, Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts and Blank Noise.
